Hedging & pruning for Central Coast conditions
Popular Central Coast hedges like lilly pilly, murraya, westringia and viburnum put on a lot of growth in the warm months. Two to four trims a year keeps them dense and tidy. In exposed coastal spots we shape hedges slightly wider at the base so light reaches the bottom and salt winds don't thin them out.

Questions
How often should hedges be trimmed?
Fast growers like lilly pilly and murraya usually need trimming every 6 to 12 weeks in the growing season. Slower hedges may only need two or three cuts a year.
Can you cut back a hedge that has got too big?
Yes. We reduce overgrown hedges in stages so they recover and thicken up again, rather than cutting them back to bare wood all at once.
Do you take the hedge clippings away?
Yes. Every job includes cleaning up and removing the green waste.
